There are 2 ways to bet...
IF YOU ARE PLAYING AT THE EVENT
If you are playing at the event in question then you can do it on the day and the appointed Bookmaker will be announced in the clubhouse prior to play.
IF YOU ARE NOT PLAYING AT THE EVENT
If you are NOT playing at the event in question then you can text/call any of the committee members to state you bet[s] and then send your stake to the society bank account. If you win, your winnings will be returned to you in the same way.

what is it?
1- Bunkers Betting is run by Bunkers and the Bookmaker is picked for each event
2- Bunkers Betting is intended as a bit of extra fun with 20% of the pot going towards the society for everyones benefit.
3- Each unit [bet] costs £1.00, and you can bet as many units you like on as many players you wish - even yourself.
4 - You can bet as much as you want on a player. For example, if you wanted to bet £5 on Player A it would be entered as 5 x £1 bets. If Player A wins and you have 5 x £1 bet on them and another member has just £1, then you will take 5/6ths of the total pot.
5 - The betting will close prior to the 1st group of the day tee-ing off.
6 - Minimum stake is £1. There is no maximum stake.

how does it work?
It works the same was as "The Tote" and is called "Parimutuel betting". This is explained in more detail HERE
Simply put, the bookmaker collects peoples bets to create a pool of money. The winnings are then based and taken from this pool of funds so there is no risk to any society or other funds being taken. You win what we put in.
The Odds on your bet are not known until the event has closed for betting and for Bunkers events, this will be prior to the 1st group tee-ing off on the day of play.
This is because in this mode of betting all the stakes are totalled up and then a house percentage removed from the total [20%]. The remaining sum in the pool is then the prize pot to be split by the number of bets made.
Example:
- If the total number of bets made by Bunkers membersfor our next event is 100 units that means the prize pot is £100.
- The bookmaker will take out 20% (£20) for the society leaving an £80 prize pot to be won.
- Player A wins the Bunkers event.
- The bookmaker will count up each unit [£1] unit bet on Player A by our members.
- Lets say 10 units [£10] have been bet on Player A in total - each person who has bet a unit on Player A will win!!!
- £80 divided by 10 equals £8 per unit. [So if you bet £1 you will get £8 BUT if you bet £5 then you would get £40.
