One place a player never wants to find themselves is on the Bunkers Golf Society Wall of Shame.
From the desperate to the dire - these lads have found themselves at the rock bottom of the days play.

THE MERE - SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2015
This weeks wall finder has tried to evade his face being placed on here by doing the "sh*thouse shuffle" straight after his round finish. However, the wall does not accept this kind of behaviour and will therefore be looking for a more permanent fixture in future. New shoes didn't help this week and a case of the snap hooks on a tough course was always going to cause issues. This weeks loser is...

The wall was excited this week. It had the chance to add three names in one fell swoop. It took a careful look at the teams that were drawn and it locked its eyes on an old friend. The chance of welcoming a previous stalwart to the wall for his first appearance in 2015 was too much to ignore. It was a shame that a guest of the society had to be roped into this reunion, but needs must. Welcome back to the warmth of the wall Mr Lloyd. This weeks losers are...

leasowe golf club - sunday 6th september 2015
There are two voices that the wall hears chirping away at each event. Two voices that proclaim their greatness and that the victory is a mere formality. As a result, the wall often keeps a beady eye on this pair and is always willing to snatch them up as victims at any given point. To get the two of them as a pair, seemed like to good an opportunity to waste. Being a Captain v's Presidents DAY, it seemed inconceivable that the President would come last AGAIN!. However, when the wall decides, the wall gets!!! This weeks losers are...

wychwood park - thursday 20th august 2015
There are instances in any given season when "The Wall" has an urge - a quest, if you will - to get a member to appear on more than one occasion . The Wall isn't a big fan of those with smug looks in its direction, and so it often has a taste for the man who has [self confessed] possession of the 'smuggest face in the world'. A tricky course with hazards in prime driving catchment areas was always going to be a nemesis for Mr Yo-Yo - who's golf game can be up and down more times than a pair of knickers in a Jackie Collins novel. This weeks loser is...

The wall strikes again! It's had its beady eye on this fella for a while and has been trying in vain to get his smiling face plastered all over it - but he's a slippery customer and has avoided it.....UNTIL NOW.
He's always had the ability to blame his partner in crime for his earlier visit to the wall, but now he's on here all on his lonesome and it feels goooooooood! Coming in with a 9 over his generous 19 handicap the wall gladly accepts this weeks loser....

worsley park - sunday 2nd august 2015
The Wall has been waiting for this one........patiently. It now has its chosen victim. The sheer delight on the faces of other members in the background of his photographs shows you how much this one meant. The Wall has been grinding down this fella's resistance for a few weeks now, and its finally broken him and BROKE HIM REAL GOOD. The very fact that he finds himself on the wall with a reasonable return of 27 points makes it sweeter, and on a card playoff makes it almost orgasmic. Who remembers the now infamous tweet of #GivnanSlam? Absolutely get your chops around this one. This weeks loser is....
vale royal abbey - thursday 23rd july 2015
As a Major winner in 2015, you would think that the Wall would show a degree of respect for such winning pedigree. However, it is a cruel beast and goes hunting players regardless of how well they may have performed in the recent past. At Vale Royal it took a strong grip and would not let go until the above picture was planted upon it. This weeks loser is...

"The Housewife" had one of those rounds that were summed up by a photo he sent on the 15th tee simply saying "Golf has gone wrong!" and showing a photo of him with a beer. Sometimes you just have to smile and enjoy the sunny day and the company of others. He has played after no sleep, and attended events when he was in no fit state, and always avoided the clawing grasp of "The Wall", but it had him in his sights at Carden Park and what "The Wall" wants, "The Wall" gets. New handicaps are a sure fire way to lure a man into thinking he is considerably better than he is. Take "The World's Smuggest Man" for instance. Those rose tinted golfing spectacles led him to believe that things were 'on the up' and then The Wall came hunting him down! Post round he slumped into the clubhouse, slapped down his scorecard and took his sweaty red face away in a hurry declaring "I'm going for a shower before work". If he thought The Wall would accept that quietly, he was sorely mistaken. It cannot be reasoned with, it cannot be bargained with. It doesn't feel pity, remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, EVER, until you're wearing its shirt. This weeks loser is...

In a pairs event, you depend on your playing partner to drag you out of the wilderness when you are enjoying a bit of a dark moment during a round. Sometimes, that dragging you can bring you down a level and you both end up peaking and slumping at the same points. Thats what happened to this weeks winners of the wooden spoon.
After narrowly escaping 'The Wall" at our last event, it never takes the wall too long to hunt down its target and Mr King has well and truly been captured!. This weeks losers are...

heswall golf club - sunday 7th june 2015
2nd Major of the season and the anticipation can be cut with a blunt knife. The sun was shining, the course was primed and the banter was in full flow - what could go wrong? Well, firstly for this weeks loser it was the usual car park on the M6 as he made his way up North. 4 points in the first 8 holes is never going to set things in motion and it was probably the stress of the journey playing its part - but I'm sure no one will care about that. A revival of 10 points in the next 5 holes showed a glimmer of hope but 3 consecutive blobs ensured the salmon pink number was firmly on its way. Work demands meant he couldn't wait around to meet hit fate - but we have ways Benjamin!!! This weeks loser is.....

reddish vale golf club - sunday 31st may 2015
So Reddish Vale Golf Club was the 1st ever "Captain v's President" event and teach of the team leaders was trash talking the other, adamant that their lads would be coming away with a resounding win. The pair of them were going to be playing each other individually, but keeping a betterball card so they could enter the main competition prizes. Steve Evans [Captain] shot 29 on his own and with the help of his opponent, Dave Ashley [President] that rocketed up to 32 points and their special day ended in the warm snugness of the losers shirts!!!

warrington golf club - wednesday 18th may 2015
Warrington Golf Club was a tough enough test for experienced golfers, let alone for a 28 handicapper who has just started to take up the game. So its with a touch of sympathy that this weeks winner is unceremoniously slapped onto the wall of shame. However, it shows no mercy and therefore he's going to just have to 'get over it'. Starting with 3 blobs is never going to help, but the remainder of the front 9 was solid. A gross birdie on the 16th gives promise of better times but this events loser is....

blundells hill golf club - saturday 2nd may 2015
Tricky conditions at times for our visit to Blundells Hill but that doesn't provide any form of decent excuse for walking away with the wooden spoon. As a new member to Bunkers, its always great to get your "firsts" under your belt - however, this weeks loser must have wished this was not one of them. Declaring himself "Mr Blobby" as he walked into the clubhouse kind of gives you an idea of how his day went. This weeks loser is....

dunham forest golf club - saturday 18th april 2015
The sun was cracking the flags, the lads were all in good form and the first Major of the season was about to be played at Dunham Forest. Defending Champion from 2014 was Kev Murphy and he had high hopes for his 2015 Bunkers season...."The target is Cat 1 this year!"....Brave, very brave Kevin.
There are occasions when golf just likes to creep up behind you and give you one of those schoolyard kicks in the stones through your legs and then run away laughing....this was one of those where the game decided Kev needed that almighty volley. formby ladies - sunday 29th march 2015
The opening event of the season at Formby Ladies. The banter is as ever present as the nerves and excitement. Those winter months have been put to good use, the planning has been done and the practice has been long and hard and now fast forward to the first tee at your first event of the season and you're all set.....well, not quite.
Getting to bed at 5am on the day of play is never ideal, and in this case caused the connection between limbs and brain to falter greatly as our first loser of 2015 found the going tough with a monster hangover. So much so, he thought he'd slipped away from the attention by leaving straight after his round.....NO CHANCE. The salmon pink shirt and "The Wall" always catches up with losers!
